I haven't been here-bloglandia, or anywhere where I could actually think about something with a clear brain for a while so forgive me..if there is anyone out there reading this...
So I got to go to the ER for a bit today. I am totally still allergic to neosporin and had insane anaphlactic shock to it. Lucky me. Felt like a vice was on my lungs all night. Icky poo.
I am watching bad bad scifi on tv. Worse that, bad horror. Ha!
I decided to step it up and just tell a dude I think he is adorable and he didn't mind. We got to talk for a bit through email and now through texting. I know I am busy & so is he(with actual career work, not just "work")..I know it will take a while for him to make time to hang out, so I don't really mind the banter that's happening right now.
But he is just SO DANG ADORABLE.Oh well. Only time can tell and as long as I can stop leaving my phone unlocked at work so the boys can send inappropriate texts and make me have massive panic attacks and maybe appear crazier than I am....I think maybe we will get to hang out.
Yeah, right. And pigs fly.
Also, almost done with a second sock, still love geek a week, wondercon is closer, calculus is still kicking my A@@, i do love the geology class, sexy nurse outfits simply are not worn in hospitals anymore, & my kid is almost all grown up and fabulous.
So go Team Adorable! Let's make this happen! Day Spoon!!! If it's lame, no hurt no foul and the non chooser has to take it like a sad little puppet (i.e. drown my sorrows in a vat of pure tequila)

Jiffy Buttermilk Pancakes!

So this is the BOMB!!
1 c. buttermillk & 1 egg <--in the blender for 20 seconds
then add
1 c. flour
2 T. veg oil
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
blend it all together for about a minute
Pour on a lightly oiled griddle and NOMNOMNOMNOM
Seriously. SO thick and goopy makes for some delicious pancakes
(i would of posted photos but we ate them all!)
makes about 15 tiny pancakes
Aussie was almost too tired to eat pancakes...

So I know I haven't been updating this thing. Who reads this anyway is how I feel.
But today the recession hit close to home. My good friend - whom I have known for 17 frakkin years!! - lost her job today. Crap.

So we went to go eat comfort food and hit up a rather beautiful playground.

Pretty huh? In the middle of the coiling snake was the water feature - jets of water shooting up REALLY high - like 15 ft up - I bet it is a real hit when the heat creeps in. And yes it DOES get hot in SF - especially in the hood this park is at...

I made the Pangalactic Garbleblasters last night. They really hit hard.

Can't I just smile in a photo - ONCE in my frakkin life? Jeeez.
Some one was wearing the "Science, it works bitches" so I am glad I did not wear mine. Hate to be wearing the same thing at a partay as someone else eh?

I didn't really think people would throw things in ... I think maybe these both blew in...lollipop stick and a map of the Academy of Sciences.

On a critical note - the new California Academy of Sciences kinda bites. The aquarium is awesome and I am sure the planetarium is dope - but all the natural history stuff is just GONE. No rocks. No nothing. Boring. The two 'side' halls are just tvs showing endless movies about crap that isn't worth the tv's they are on. I almost think they offset their green standing with all the tv's they have in there. Instead of just a sign for the tanks - which there are a TON of - they have little tv screens. WTF? Instead of interesting exhibits about life on earth they have 'interactive' games that are more mind-sucking than educational. They have one of those computer screens on the floor that usually involve stomping and more stomping except this one is a conservation game - THAT NOONE PLAYS RIGHT! One is supposed to be feeding ( shushing with ones feet) the bugs to save them and instead parents are telling the kids to "STEP ON THE BUG!! GET IT!!!" Uhmm. People? IT IS A NATURAL HISTORY museum. That means no killing. Although the game is right by the hall of dead animals (with live penguins at one end) so maybe the message has been completely lost on the new viewing public. If I was a more generous donor they might respond to my angst over the serious lack of planning on the CAS part - but alas - I am only a little peon. Bummer. They should of called me. Oh well.

Caught an old MUNI bus today..It was BLUE. And Osky was wearing blue so he totally blended in. I was trying to take a photo of him but it was a bumpy FULL bus. And he was eating the whole way. And sitting on my lap half the time. And there was a couple standing squished and groping in the middle of the bus. So odd. I see it in the mornings on the 28L. Kinda gross. Kinda not. I just think busses are big germ carriers and I can't imagine getting all kinky on the bus. Ewwwww.
I think my package arrived today while I was away at school so I think I might be able to get it Friday ...maybe tomorrow..But tomorrow is the big debate and I am working at The 500 Club for it. Woot! We have some funny drinks :
Alaska Oil Spill for Mrs. Palin -
1/2 oz Blue Curacao liqueur
1/4 oz Jagermeister® herbal liqueur

I have not entered anything in a while. OOPS.
I am busy with school and the wee one and knitting a little surprise for my PRGE spoilee. I need to get some more stuff together on Sunday and send off a package on Monday. I am just so bogged down right now. Or at least I feel like I am. I am trying to take off this Sat so I can hang with the boys and go to the opening of the Academy of Sciences. I think his Circus Center is going to be performing too so that will be nice for him to see them. We missed this cycle for all kinds of reasons but he will be going back next time - in a few weeks- so I am excited for that. Trying to get another kid in the hood to take the class with him.
Knitting I miss you.
The car is in need of a new clutch and then maybe a few other small things and then we can drive it. I need to drive. It is such a cute little bugger and it is all I want to get to school in. It is nice getting a lift but I think Osky is really affected when he doesn't spend an hour with me before I drop him off. He has been getting REALLY fussy at drop off time since we've been getting a lift and I think it is the lack of time in the morning together. The bus does suck but just the bus sucked - not the hanging out with Osky and walking across campus with him. That I liked. Doing it for two and half hours was getting a little harsh twice a day three times a week though if you know what I mean.
Okay. I rambled a little too much. I don't even know if it makes sense.

Also...In MORE IMPORTANT NEWS: We Bought A Car. Yes. I know. But it takes me 2.5 hours to get to school and 3 hours to get home again. That is all the time in the world when the traveling companion is 2.5 years old and I have calculus to do and knitting to get on. So the car is petite and old and SHWEET!!! And it will make things easier. It is not the car to drive to Alaska but it is a good one get me to SFSU and CCSF and back home again. And to take Aussie to the beach. It is at Carlos's Car Shoppe for a few days to get some stuff fixed up real nice and then we need to smog and register it. Wish us luck on the smog bit. And then voila! Dude. The thing has a CHOKE. HAHAHHHAHAH.Anyway. Little Car Club here we come!

a- for socks any color combo or straight color is awesome but I do not like synthetic yarns AT ALL. They are non functional to me if they cant deal with water like cotton or wool or flax or even hemp does. SEriously - keep it natural please!!
b- to knit with i have had a thing for aqua-like blues. red is good too. yellow is sweet. black rocks. just no neons i think.

Osky and his buddies at the playgroup we were going to over the summer = TEH HAWESOOME:

I started school today and I got the three classes I needed : Life in The Universe, Speech 1, and Calculus 110A. I am going to have a hard time in the Speech - believe it or not - but the rest should be okay.
Osky is hanging out with Clinton this week so that I can be in class before his school starts next Wednesday. They are having a good time bonding.
We got our new membership cards for the Academy of Sciences and we are going to a preview day viewing September 16. I am really excited. It sounds like my Astronomy professor might know someone at the Morrison Planetarium too so maybe I can get a volunteer something there if I do well. I think next semester I am going to take an Introduction to Astrophysics class. Yes. Thats right.
But here are some photos from the past few weeks and one from Andy & Cambry's wedding from way back in May(!) where it looks like my drunken dancing may be knocking Osky on the head something fierce.

Sorry Shannon - it looks like Osky is opting on the cute girls in the neighborhood instead of waiting for Storey....

We went to the Giants stadium to let the kids play around - free when there is no game in town..

Today was hectic though..we caught the bus out to CCSF and went to the Family Resource Center orientation. I now have osky in two schools so I can go to classes. This one is awesome and I have to volunteer but I am totally down if they can help me get my classes...I should of taken photos at the chaos today but it was so much fun that I couldn't stop listening to the ladies talk to us and stop watching the kids have fun together. It was awesome and totally different than anything I have experienced at CCSF so far. I only wish I had known about the FRC last semester. I think maybe I will try and help get the word out because NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THEM!!! Why? I applied to the daycare at CCSF when Osky turned at least one and they never mentioned the FRC. Hmph. Hows that for help? grr..So My MAIN goal this semester is to get A's and help the FRC.
I think I just might be able to do this. And maybe even keep up this blog while I am at it! HA!

So Osky has a new lady friend, Beatrice. Pretty cute....Clinton said he became a little Bam-Bam and hit her over the head with a baseball bat. Again - just shows you how much it is truly genetics. Yikes.
And yes - he really is balancing a spinning plate on top of that stick. He also did some neat trapeze stuff but Clinton took all the photos so I don't have access to them yet. When I do I will post more. Or link to them on his flickr.

So I just found this lady's blog CityMama and it turns out she is from Hawai'i too. The post I linked to is one about ohana and all that it means. So it put me in a good mood about things and ladeda I went on my way.
Then we went to the playground today and I was reminded HOW MUCH this place is NOT like home. All nanny's and no parental makes for a hard lesson about sharing. The nanny's are not the bad guys and I can't honestly say that the parents of the kids would do different but there does seem to be a lapse in responsiblity when the children are not being watched by family. See I think in Hawaii the ohana thing seeped in everywhere so it was everywhere. But here there is such a disconnect I can't even begin to type it properly.
We had an incident a while ago that I guess subconciously made me avoid the playground for a while. Some boy got into it with Osky over yet another toy brought to the playground and the boy threw sand in Osky's face. I told him that "No - We do not throw sand in anyones face. Apologize now" - he ran to his nanny crying - she came over mad at me and I had to tell her why/what I told him - the whole time with Osky crying over the sand and the lack of sharing over the toy...
SO basically everything is usually fine unless there is a non-playground-object-toy there.Today it was a lawnmower push toy. First Osky was trying to grab it so I intervened (even tho this was being done in front of the others guardian) and had to tell him to wait and ask politely. So he sniveled over to me on the bench and we waited for the kid to come back after he ran around the park. He waited and asked through about five kids - who all said no (of course-they are three)- and we waited and waited. Then another random kid took the toy from another boy and walked to Osky. He assumed that meant to share - said please & share - and the kid said no and kinda pushed osky. That was it. No parent or anything came up..I grabbed Osky and left. He got really mad and as we were leaving the park I turned to see 6 kids grabbing for the damn thing AND NO ONE INTERVENING!!!
WTF.
I don't know. I get so disheartened when we go to that playground.
It makes me all sad that I don't know how to do this right and that I get frustrated and leave- what kind of lesson is that teaching Osky y'know?
Grrr.
Bummer.
And my coffee sucked this morning. If I order a small double iced latte DONT GIVE ME A SUPER MASSIVE BIG ONE AND MAKE ME POUR IT MYSELF AND ASK ME IF I WANT LEFTOVERS!@!!!!!
Maybe I like it smaller cause I don't like all that milk. Junk part is it is the owner who always mucks up the coffees. The staff know how to make the drinks but seriously - if he is on the machine I should just know better already.

Rhoda and Matt sent us a great pair of green pants for Osky and I wanted to make more with all the shirts that we have stashed waiting to have some crafty thing done to them. These are for Paxton (10 mos) and I have other pairs that need to be mailed off to all the birthday babies that just had their first birthday parties and the ones who were just born. Really easy to make! I just hope I dont get carried away and start cutting up clintons fancy shirts he still wears!
Osky got into the SFSU childcare program for MWF so I might be able to take a precalc class after all!. Whoa. Plus the English and the French. and the Astronomy. Maybe four is crazy. Maybe not. Hmm. I have about a week to decide. Any input from you flogs out there?

Thanks for all the cute comments on the wee surfer. I am going to go to the gym (OMG!!) to try and beef up those muscles needed to paddle out to the surf. Then hopefully learn how to surf before he learns how to swim and then we enter him in every surf contest there is.
And as you can see from the photo o'the day - we have begun the potty lesson. He is good at the peein' but the BM is a little more confusing.
The following can go in the annals of TMI & Gross Things Dogs Do:
This morning he almost made "it" into his little potty but missed so while I ran to go get TP to clean it up ( i know i should of had some ready but it was a sloooow morning okay?) THE FRAKKIN DOG ATE THE POOP PELLETS !!!!! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!
So maybe the next time you come over we should just say hi to the dog instead of giving her some smooches...Yoiks.

Okay. So i am awful at the grocery shopping. We dont have a car and the bike is hard to ride loaded with groceries. I can do a few days in the backpack and load that to the kids seat but Osky gets frustrated if we only go for the short bike ride. So basically we go in the afternoon after a nap. It works and I like it.
Falettis has a great meat department and the folks that work there are really good. They cut the meat, dont try and oversell and most of all they play with osky. So there is one guy ( whose name I am forgetting) and he loves to bust out the fish to say hi to Osky. Seriously. He wakes them from their nap on the ice and bring them out wiggling. Every. Time. And the crabs. And now the clams. Except this time he gave Osky two clams for his very own. Can you see the excitement in his face? He loved those clams all the way home. And then Aussie tried to eat them. And then they ended in the compost bin. But man. He loved them clams. I think this fascination with these sea creatures outside their enviornment is going to make for a funny first few visits when the Academy of Sciences reopens.

got new converse to replace the awesome handmedowns. he lost one of his shoes when he got his foot stuck in the pipe on the sidewalk. bummer he cried about it to anyone who would listen so today we got new ones. only $20 but i do feel bad when I know he will out grow them soon. we will pass them on though so that is good. he then wanted to wear my new glasses so i had to shoot this photo of him in so much blue. he chose the color for the new sneaks. he was very excited and dancing it up at shoebiz. pretty cute.

Well..It has been a busy few weeks and my brain is still not settled at all. Great visit from my mom, her mom, and the aunties! I finally uploaded some scanned photos from my dads massive collection and am working on that project this summer.
Going to try and build a playhouse thing for Osky in the backyard. Lots to do this summer.
I will make a list soon and post it here to see if I can finish all the goals I have set for myself.
Hmmm.
Very tired.
More later when I am really decompressed.
